The Lord of Cries
Music by John Corigliano
Libretto by Mark Adamo
BMOP and Odyssey Opera team up for the East Coast premiere of The Lord of Cries, composer John Corigliano and librettist Mark Adamo’s striking new opera. Weaving Bram Stoker’s Dracula with Euripides’s tragedy The Bacchae, Corigliano and Adamo lead the listener through a fever dream of ecstasy and ruin set in Victorian England. Featuring GRAMMY® Award-winning countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo as the supernatural Dionysus-cum-Dracula, Lord of Cries reimagines timeless themes for contemporary audiences.
The Lord of Cries appears in Boston for one night only.
