Daniel Kamalic

Winner of the 2014 American Prize Chicago Oratorio Award, lyric tenor Daniel Kamalic’s engagements for the 2014 season include Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi (Hubbard Hall Opera Theater),the title role in Der Kaiser von Atlantis (Connecticut Lyric Opera), and the covers of Canio and Turiddu in Pagliacci and Cavalleria Rusticana (Maryland Lyric Opera). He is excited to return to Boston for his fourth role under the baton of Gil Rose, having most recently appeared as Pyotr Fyodorovich in The Nose with Opera Boston, and having created the role of Dr. Charles Leale in the world premiere and recording of Eric Sawyer’s Our American Cousin with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. A champion of new and rarely-performed works, he created the role of the Shepherd in the world premiere of Charles David Younger’s Armenian opera The Girl From Shunem, and he premiered works from Sarah Meneely-Kyder’s Grammy-nominated Letter from Italy, 1944.
