Jamie Korkos

Mezzo-soprano Jaime Korkos has been singing in the Boston area for the last 10 years. In that time, she sang the title roles in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, Hoffman’s La Périchole, Massenet’s Cendrillon and Dvorak’s Rusalka, as well as various other roles during her Graduate and Artist Diplomas at the New England Conservatory. She was a Gerdine Young Artist at Opera Theatre of St. Louis for two seasons, where she sang the role of Edith in The Pirates of Penzance. 2014 debuts included the roles of Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) and La Ciesca (Gianni Schicchi) with Hubbard Hall Opera Theatre, and Cendrillon (Cendrillon) with Bel Cantanti Opera. 2015 appearances included the alto solo in Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with organist Richard Clark and the St. Cecilia String Quartet, and American composer Charles Fussell’s song cycle November Leaves with Maestro Gil Rose and the Boston Modern Orchestra Project. Ms. Korkos has been singing regularly with Boston Lyric Opera since their 2016 production of Carmen, including in The Rake’s Progress, Tosca, and The Threepenny Opera and will join them for The Handmaid’s Tale in 2019. In 2017, Ms. Korkos sang with Gare St. Lazare Ireland in a staged Boston production of Samuel Beckett’s writings and prose entitled Here All Night. She rejoined the company in 2018 for a seven-city tour across Ireland. 2018 also brought her debut with Boston Opera Collaborative, singing Hannah After in Kaminsky’s critically acclaimed chamber opera As One. Ms. Korkos made her debut with Odyssey Opera as Lady Angela in their 2017 production of Patience and is beyond excited to join them again as Oreste in La belle Hélène.
